Was "Stacy" Shut ... Down?

April 14, 2007

I turned on my digital cable guide to find something not so Comcastic tonight---Stacy London's Shut Up was not on the menu this Friday night. Where'd Stacy go? Could the talk show have been canceled already?? It seemed to be a hit, at least with this blog's readers!

So what's up - any news?

Shut Up! Stacy London Gets Her Own Talk Show

April 02, 2007

Stacy London One of the idol's of my life, Stacy London---stylist from TLC's What Not to Wear, a complete make-over show that teaches the women to fish, sotospeak---has gotten her own talk show. The fashion and beauty themed hour-long show will run Friday nights after her other show, WNtW, which she will still "star" in, natch.

This could be good as Stacy has some personality, with her signature phrase helping to title the show even, Shut Up! With Stacy London (although shut up on a talk show? Hmm).

Premiering April 6th at 10 p.m. on TLC, her first guests will be Jane Krakowski, Lisa Rinna, designer Kristen Lee and author Ron Geraci.

I'll tune in, and you know what, this could bring me back to watching WNtW more regularly again. As another talk show host says, it's a good thing.

Some information thanks to TV Squad.

I'm not into fashion rules, lately

November 20, 2006

Dress Your Best What Not to WearI've based this blog partly around fashion rules and being a fan of What Not to Wear, but for some months I've been just not into it. I don't even feel like sticking with it for the sake of the blog's name (Stacy London is a stylist on the show).

I hate that because of a physical attribute, I'm told it's a flaw. I hate because of a "flaw," I can't wear certain things or carry certain bags. Sure, I won't wear skinny jeans, because I'm not a moron who hates herself, but I might like to wear boots, leggings, and a mini skirt---even if I'm short. And for years, I thought I couldn't wear mini skirts because of some thighs, and I've realized I can. And I feel sexy. (All thanks to leggings, which some people hate.)

Fashion is about looking good, but it's also art and about expressing oneself. Right?!

I don't want to stick to one look 100% of the time and I don't want to bar myself from looks I like 100% completely.

So don't tell me I should wear navy leggings to elongate my legs because they match my skirt---I know all the rules, I just choose expression. (And grey is a pale neutral, so there.)

So maybe I've gone a little crazy lately, but I'm fed up and I'm rebelling!

Gosh darn it!

Stacy London Previews Emmy Style Trends

September 17, 2005

What Not to Wear t.v. host and stylist (not to mention our namesake), Stacy London, spoke to Access Hollywood about Emmy fashion 2005. According to her ...

What you'll see at the big show:

- Black is in; it's simple, formal elegance and in tone with our country's current mood. The stars will subdue their looks, in respect for what so many people have lost.

What's OUT this year:

- Sheer fabrics that show off bodylicious areas. Cover up those "girls"! It's time for modesty.

And the colors for everyone to wear this fall:

- Deep purples, dark teals, browns, etc. (Just what I've been saying.)
