Best Blogged Bags this Holiday Week

November 25, 2007

Perhaps a good blogger should cover more than she can cover, to really cover as much as she can - or can't? Anyway, I'm bringing back (after I've just come back) weekly bagopshere posts. But I'm trying to expand into bag-related posts from non-bag blogs, too. Tough! I also would love to discover new bag blogs (I've receieved some recently and I'm late on adding your wonderful links). Anyway, if you have a post you'd like to suggest - comment us!

  • Apparently this Fendi bag ate the wrong part of a turkey this Thanksgiving (and the meal didn't agree with it) - or, well, what would purses eat anyway? Anyhoo! I don't enjoy animal cruelty symbols for my heartwarming meets feast (and mashed potatoes) holiday, but I do enjoy giggling at this fab but overcooked purse! --InMyBag

  • Plum plaid/croc framed satchel by River Island -- you see this is a handbag I would never find to post, especially since it's from the UK! But gosh, I kind of fancy it! --TheBagLady

  • The Addict's Mantra: The Logo is Not Who You Are --TheRunwayScoop

  • The dream find = Vintage Dior Bag for ... $8 --- leads to the TOUGHEST question of all = is it or is it not---real? (I hope it is, and oh! It makes me want the perfect vintage Dior-at any price!) -- Help a girl out over at StyleBytes. (The post is older, but the bag was featured recently in an ensemble.)

  • And finally... Of course one must feature a post with one of the fabbest bags in the world, but only in a bagosphere recap when - alas - it is the rare pipe dream of a 30cm Blue Jean Hermés Birkin that is not my own, nor for sale. Whose is it? Megs. I can only dream on my little blogger's pay, but I'm happy to stay the blogger anyway (and hope to grow, at least)! For the rest of those like I, let us ogle these really well-taken photographs! --ThePurseBlog

30cm Blue Jean Hermes Birkin

Today we sum up this holiday week in bag blogging, turkey and graciousness (not to mention a more Christmas-themed than Thanksgiving parade, as usual). Luckily, the graciousness might just continue on the Internet--if we all try hard, we may still have those mashed potatoes whenever we're able to peel the spuds, we still have all that we give thanks for, and at least hopefully the turkeys are a little bit safer, for now.

At least when it comes to eating them.

No, we must worry more about the cows. Back to life!

Dior Gaucho Conversation with the Grouch-o

March 21, 2007

Dior Metallic Gold GauchoThe Dior Gaucho bag just keeps getting better. When it first came out, ehh not so good. But with style re-inventions there have been improvements, like interesting texture and different straps.

Now they have the classic in a shimmering gold metallic washed calfskin. My BFF's mother picked that out as her dream bag, and I say "good choice!"

But here's how the conversation went with my BFF, introduced here for the first time (who otherwise will be known as the Evil Fashionisto! dun dun dunnn).

Ella: "And that's an It Bag!"

TEF: "A **it bag?"

Ella, ignoring: "I found the price! It's about the same as my dream quilted Bay; $1760."

TEF: "**** ****."

Ella: "It's less expensive than the Gaucho she liked last trip to Neimans. Over $2,000."

TEF: "****. Ma, you should get a fake."

Ma: "I don't want a fake."

TEF "No, don't they have inspireds?"

Ella: "Yeah, I can find one for you, without metallic leather though, probably on ASOS."

TEF: "What's that, pesos? It's for pesos? That's a perfect price!"

Ella, laughing: "That's priceless. Ooh, get it?!"

Dior Handheld Gaucho Satchel

March 09, 2007

Dior Gaucho ToteI've hated the Gaucho by Dior. There wasn't one aspect to pinpoint, or so I thought, but with the arrival of a new Gaucho style, I suddenly know.

The bag is 1,000 times better with short double handles instead of a long shoulder (or cross body - bleck!) strap.

Unfortunately I've only seen this style in a yellow-creme white, but hey that's in right?

The new Gaucho is sized 18" x 12" and through Diabro.net costs roughly $1,277.

Dior Amour! - My Dior Large Pockets Bag

January 15, 2007

My Dior Large Pockets Bag

Ooooooooooooh, Dior mon amour! New Dior in new classic styles, les grande sighs!

From the new "My Dior" collection, this "Large Pockets" Satchel (which is large with pockets, not actual large pockets :-P) is an upgraded version of an old favorite. With sophisticated details, including a metal "accessory" strap cinching ruched leather, and barely a logo in sight - this bag is all design and shape (zip-top frame and pockets, all rounded Dior-lightfully!) with not a bit of tacky - all class.

Plus if you're often worried about fitting your necessities, this bag is truly grandiose at 17" x 14" x 4.5"

What an amazing sight to be seen! Dior - you are one of my true, true loves!

Dior Voyage Large Boston Bag

November 14, 2006
Dior Vintage Voyage Large BostonThis Dior Voyage Large Boston Bag in brown should be mine, all mine. It's classic, logoed, brown, a satchel ... but it's a tad expensive at $895. Yet I yearn. The details are specifically done, letting this bag's simplicity shine, both winning for this to be an all-around great, everyday bag. It could even be true for any time, especially with antiqued silver hardware. This Boston bag is also the perfect size at 13.5" x 8.5" x 6". Now, I already read the price, I hope it's perfect for you, because it's practically devastating to me. To each her own pricepoint, but I'm sure this handbag speaks to anyone.

New Dior Gaucho: Croc Embroidered

November 09, 2006

Christian Dior Croc-Embroidered GauchoThere's a new Gaucho in town, and it's more attractive to me. I still wouldn't fawn over the design, no, only the IT. Sorry, I do that. ;-)

The body of the bags looks .. less ugly---being subtler yet letting that Dior-saddle shine. But the leather is actually beautiful; it has embroidered patches made to look like croc skin. Why not the real thing? Why not the real thing, yet it's $3,590? Bah.

Still, it's quite ugly when worn, with that loong shoulder strap on the huge bag. Ick.

How'd the original even get tagged IT? (Oh, silly editors!)

Dior Rebelle Collection

July 17, 2006

It's IT Bag Monday!

Yawwn. Vacations are tough, huh? Preparations for a week before ... then after, there's paying bills that arrived (and are already overdue, eek!), getting re-settled, and working out the kinks of getting back to one's life. Sometimes that last part's especially hard. I came from hot but completely air-conditioned Florida to more humid in my-house-than-out Home-Bleh-Home. Adjusting is of course tough.

Christian Dior Rebelle HoboSo, I'm soo late in posting this. But my enthusiasm makes up, right?

The new Dior Rebelle line is so hot, this hobo's cousin with a front pocket (and this one in white!) already sold out. I personally love the dogleash clips connecting the flap and strap, but find the bags more rebel than belle.

(And I love that pocket, but hate hobos with flaps. Boo.)

Buy this leather and suede-trimmed bag for $1,495 at eLUXURY.

Dream Gift: Dior Romantique

November 02, 2005
Dior Trotter Romantique BeigeMy Birthday is past, and I'm disappointed with my overall lack of boxes to open. I suppose I am difficult. I will be happy when spending all the cash received, though. However, I'm a bit busy for the bank and even shopping! The perfect present would be "free" time or more hours in the day. My other tastes in wishes are either expensive or loving relationship related. With time, all my bliss will come to me, but certain items are limited. Alas, I'm not fortunate enough to be able to acquire this dream gift: Christian Dior's Trotter Romantique in Beige. I imagine such a bag as this to be the someday "engagement" handbag. Don't you think it's suiting?

Dior Saddle Pouches - True Innovation

April 23, 2005

Christian Dior Trotter Saddle Pouch Pink Signature Handbag When I first saw Dior's saddle pouches, well I was intrigued, but I thought they were impractical and questionable in looks. But last evening I saw a girl wearing one of these bags, and I immediately recognized it as designer. So, I gawked. Naturally. This is a good thing.

Looking more at this bag being worn, it is quite nice. For right-arm purse wearers, it must feel comfortable. But it is still a little impractical, as I can't quite pin down how the items inside the purse will settle.

Above all, though, this bag is an innovation. It is far different from any bag I've seen. And the name? Well, it makes sense if you stare at the purse long enough.

See more from Dior, including saddle purses.
