(Men's) Fashion Standards too High? President Obama's "Dad" Jeans

July 23, 2009

Sporting Event, not a Runway Show: Obama pitches comfortably.

View more photos on the Huffington Post, then tell us what you think!

Excuse me? Our president is being picked on for his "Dad" jeans. We cannot excuse him because he is a father, that clears a path for mom jeans - but are these pants really so terrible? What do you expect grown men to wear? Sure I have standards for men's jeans, but they actually exclude those trendy styles of today. What about you?

Who cares? He's a president of mature age, not a model!

I don't want our Commander-in-Cheif trendy anyway!

Buy your hubby some jeans. Take care of him and buy him some jeans.

Neil Patrick Harris Wore Liquid Suit to Host Tony's

June 08, 2009

All you fashionistas know about liquid leggings, and possibly liquid other things. But now the "trend" is branching out to men, or at least gay men ... or at least gay men at the Tony Awards, which is of course different from real straight men life, but anyway.

Neil Patrick Harris hosted the Tony Awards in a black "liquid" suit. (No wardrobe change, either, hmm. Budget!)

So what do you think of this look?

Shoes like Feet, So like Fug

April 28, 2009

The Five Fingers shoe by Vibram fits a foot like a glove ... but of course with a ground-intended sole. These things are worse than those 1990's toe socks. Check out that even the soles are contoured to a foot. The footwear is likely comfortable, but how could anyone feel confident in public in a pair?

Somehow this unique "fashion" even won an award back in 2007, but they're beyond the women of the world. In a beneath us kind of way. ;-)

Fuggest Men's Style of London? The Man Dress.

February 26, 2009

We know Europe is a bit gender-eccentric, with Scotland's kilts and their progressive ways. Not that there's anything wrong with that at all, but sometimes a man looks best dressed as a man. Err, a manly man?

Even the states now have odd (or oddly-named) things for guys, such as "bromances" and "man dates" (for straight men).

I for one am just not, and far from, ready to embrace the male gown-like skirt.

This is a look from yesterday in London's Fashion Week by J W Anderson. I would have preferred the feminisation of males on the catwalk stopped even before such a coiffed 'do, but alas, how could it?

I still know this look would never fly at a sporting event, night out with "the boys" or picking up "chicks" - so we know our society is not ready for it.

Is London's? Or is this more spectacle for attention?

Perhaps it will be tailored into female attire, for those femmes who like it - but for themselves. If that's actually the intent, I say it's silly rubbish.

Runway Fug: Men in Effeminate Partial Outerwear

February 15, 2009

Sergio Davilla's collection ... was barely there, and far from spot on. First of all, unpictured is a virtually topless female model. And then there are the effeminate men's styles with and select pieces of winterwear that look so out of place.

And I love that hat, for me... geez.

The hooded button-down shirt?

It's a good thing a photo speaks a thousand words, because this fug leaves me practically speechless.
