A hot bag this past fashion season for the desirers out there has been the
Burberry Beaton. Shown here in this season's Baby sized House Check style. Take a square body and cinch it at the top, with double handles, then add a top off of signature
Burberry print or leather, and we have the Beaton style. This Beaton has been made special with the oversized check so symmetrical, I'm proud to refer to it as "House." The baby comes in at $1395, but if that pricetag doesn't blend with its 11" x 8" high child-like size, I feel ya. If you decide to turn to eBay, all I have to say is ask a trusted message board's members, like eBay's own or at
www.forum.purseblog.com. And good luck!
Burberry has a new & interesting line out called "sliced check", which is basically their plaid pvc interrupted with stripes of silver and silver leather trim. It's a glitzy collection, for sure. You can see the effect best on their classic hobo shape. Sized 16" x 11" x 2.5", The Sliced Check Hobo costs $895, which is totally an already slashed price for such a luxe looking bag. Go Burberry!
Also in the collection are the Manor and the new Beaton.

From resort right through Spring and Summer,
Burberry offers a cute little (well, big) plaid
check satchel with white leather trim and rope detail. Measuring 14" x 8" x 7" with shoulder handles, the breezy beauty plops down on the counter with a large $890 pricetag. But it's so worth it with the details including others such as bias check print and three outer pockets. This cute bag isn't a practical steal, but it's luxe and fun.
The Burberry Icons Collection is hit and miss with fashionistas, but different bags are either hit or miss with me. The heavy-hardwared bags I don't so much like, but I love the brown leather Quilted Bag, and I really dig the new creative invention of quilted check/plaid "logo," such as in bags like the Small Quilted Bag or the Hobo, pictured.
This large Quilted Hobo isn't just a plain check hobo, it features a lock/key decorated flap. It's actually made of quilted canvas---plush!---not PVC, and is trimmed in tan leather. The bag runs 16" x 11" x 2 " and will run you only $625 retail (and the small quilted bag; $450). As for the gorgeous Quilted Leather Bag; a whopping $1,395, but it sure is nice as the gem of the collection.
Check the Icons Collection at Burberry.com (and there are a few different styles at different department stores, so shop around.)

Call me crazy (no, really) but on the plane ride home from my trip, I saw clouds that looked plaid. Stratus clouds were in just a few, really thin strips. So I thought, "Burberry clouds!" I'm daft. :-)
I drew a sketch as best I could, but it can't really depict the beauty well at all.
Burberry has a new "signature" line out: The Shadow Check is made of dark grey fabric with a fading plaid. Interesting. Also on the design is their "Equestrian Knight" logo. The Burberry Shadow Check Hobo is accented with bronze-metallic leather and a single silver buckle on its shoulder strap.
The style is interesting, although on a plain shape, and steps up Barberry's design palette, a bit. But they really can't compare with Burberry Prorsum.
The hobo will set you back $550.
In my inbox, I received news from Dooney & Bourke that, "Tartan arrives and a Star is born." Very interesting! But what outshone the actual bag designs was the Star posing with the Small Barrel Bag; Dooney's new spokesmodel, Michelle Trachtenburg of "Buffy" fame. She looks glimmering in the photo (as you can see here).
About the new bags, Tartan is a very exciting prospect for this nerd-chic girl. The plaid is almost Burberry-esque, at first glance. But please support the original design master, in this case, especially.
The Stars collection is something I'd seen floating around eBay, and thought might be bad fakes--with their cartoonish similarities to Hearts. But they're actually somewhat better than the Hearts print bags.

This, Burberry's "Candy Check iPod Case," is my favorite iPod case that I've seen.
I love a little suttin' of Burberry. I love plaid (I've got some dork in me), and this case is subtle and lilac. It perfectly matches the cover on my Dell Pocket DJ (more storage capacity than iPod Mini), but sadly, being strictly made for the iPod Mini, at 4" x 2" x 1", it is not big enough in width for the Pocket DJ. Wahh. Oh, well, since this little item is $150, my wallet will thank me. (Which is good, because I have a newfound desire to own more than one - more than two - wallets.)
