For this week's Carnivale of Couture, The Bargain Queen asks, "What is your best-ever bargain?"
I suppose I'm too dreamy about fashion, as I am with romance, to actually have such a great bargain. I've had average bargains (and a few horrid-value non-bargains) with some extreme overspending. Oh, there were bargains, but no great, great bargains.
Like I haven't found that love. Like I am so picky and dream of so much. It's odd that the greatest bargain I've found is one I could not buy: I found this wedding gown, almost my dream dress (I'm sure it could be altered) on sale for just under $500 at David's Bridal.
It is kind of similar to this gown, but more flowery-beads than lace (perfect). I would add straps and, on the other dress, straighten the neckline. I want this sort of bustline (with squushed up cleavage, oh--oh yes) and I've dreamt of spaghetti straps since I first got real bridal-fashion sense. With all the alterations, and whatever I buy needs to be shortened (because young-preteen-girls-who-are-my-size-normally aren't legally allowed to get married), it would be more expensive, so why not try to start lower?
I see these gowns at $10,000, and I was sure my taste would get me in trouble there. I sort of can't believe I would go for a bargain wedding dress, but if it is my perfect style, it's perfect. And with my picky perfectionism, after all, whatever I find, at any price, will need some changing.
Now, I just need my perfect man who thinks I'm perfect ... before prices go up and forbid!: before tacky styles come back into fashion!!

Dior Trotter Romantique Shoe
Why didn’t I think of it before? I love the Trotter Romantique range (in handbags) by Dior for brides, so why didn’t I think about the possibility of shoes?
The Trotter Romantique T-Strap Sandal isn’t exactly what I would choose for...
